Truth be told, I am not really a sales person. I never have been overly aggressive when it comes to bothering people about purchasing my product. Of course when I first started TeaLife my close friends and family heard all about it because it was something new and exciting for me. However I was never that pushy and I don’t believe in guilting people either. The product should sell itself.
That being said, it has been a long journey when it comes to building my business. I am sure I am not the same person I was 8 years ago. Not only have I learnt a ton of what it means running a company. I have also learnt a lot about myself. There has been so many ups and downs, the majority downs. And I have to continue to remind myself of “my why”… Why I choose to keep the business going.
I’ll be completely honest with you, I have never paid myself a dime from my business. I have literally been working for free for 8 years working on “making it”. Some years are better than others when it comes to the numbers. But I literally work other contract work to cover my personal finances and I continue to put the money from the business back into the business.
So what can I tell you… My company started as a hobby, you could say it still is. However I blend and provide teas that mean a lot to me, that I feel will make a difference in someone’s life.
