Before I get into this topic, I wanted to briefly mention that I was reading a book recently and this comment came up. The book I was able to get from the local library as an ebook and it was completely free. They have audio books as well you can “sign out” along with the usual paperback books. Not sure if this is something you are interested in, but I think its great I can get recent books without having to go out and purchase them to collect dust on my shelf.
Back to the topic at hand… so I’ve heard this phrase before… “If not now, when?” And it didn’t really stick with me as much as it did more recently. I don’t know about you, but I have a ton of things I “plan on doing”, and never really get around to doing them. And I find the list gets larger and larger until one day that great idea I once had never comes to fruition. So lately I keep telling myself this quote for things my mind wants to put off for whatever reason… I am tired, or distracted with Netflix, or overall not motivated. And it really helps me put things into perspective.
How am I going to get to where I want to be, if I don’t take even small steps of action and finally do it? So next time you are trying to talk yourself out of something, just think to yourself “if not now, when?” And maybe that will help you keep on keeping on.
That is my words of wisdom for the day, all part of My Bleeping Life!!
